Where does the "then vs now" data come from?
Real government birth-registry statistics — the same per-year, per-country ranking data (25 countries) that powers every popularity trend on this site. Nothing here is AI-generated or estimated.
Why don't all 25 countries show up for every name?
A country only appears if that name has recorded births there in the year you asked about, or currently. Smaller countries and less common names naturally show fewer matches.
What if my birth year predates a country's records?
That country is simply left out of the table for that year — we never fabricate a rank. US data goes back to 1880; most other countries' coverage starts later (see each name's full page for exact ranges).
Can I share the card without downloading it?
Yes — the download creates a PNG entirely in your browser (nothing is uploaded or stored on our servers), which you can then attach anywhere: text, social media, email.
